Has somebody told you already: “OOOOH, HOW STUBBORN YOU ARE !”
Sounds familiar? On what occasion have you heard it? When somebody asked you to do something and you didn’t want to do it? Let us comfort you: it’s not your problem, it’s his. Read on to get a clear picture.
The Explanation of “Don’t Be Stubborn!”
Fyrst, everybody has heard the word Stubborn. On different occasions. Mostly in a sentence: “Don’t Be Stubborn!”
In 95% it happened when somebody asked you to do a favor. We are not always prepared nor have time to pamper someone. Next, rejection follows. A person gets disappointed, angry, just choose one of his negative emotions. And now the BIG question: “Are you really stubborn?” or is this just some negative expression?
Clearly, the Word “Stubborn” exists only in a person’s vocabulary of Unsuccessful Manipulations. In our World, no such Word exists. We are exactly who we are. We do things according to our feelings, intuition, and reason (all together though).
Who Invented the Word “Stubborn”?
The word “Stubbornness” invented people who want to control, to command. The other person doesn’t listen, and doesn’t obey. He does and works his own way, according to his decision and according to his wisdom. Which is the only correct. The first person is of course offended and he calls the second person “stubborn”. The other person is NOT stubborn. He works according to his own mind, which is the only right thing to do. The first person has a problem with himself.
Who are some of the most stubborn people in history who also achieved great success ?
Picking a single person is tricky because stubbornness can be a double-edged sword. Here are a few contenders for the title of “most successful stubborn person” depending on how you define success:
- Winston Churchill: The British Prime Minister during World War II was known for his bulldog-like tenacity. He refused to give up on defeating Nazi Germany despite facing overwhelming odds early in the war. His stubbornness is often credited with helping to turn the tide of the conflict.
- Marie Curie: This pioneering physicist and chemist faced immense skepticism in the scientific community due to her gender and foreign background. Yet, her unwavering commitment to her research led to groundbreaking discoveries in radioactivity, earning her multiple Nobel Prizes.
- Nelson Mandela: Imprisoned for 27 years for fighting against apartheid in South Africa, Mandela never gave up on his vision of a just and equal society. His unwavering resolve ultimately led to the dismantling of the racist regime and his election as the country’s first black president.
These are just a few examples. There are many other historical figures who could be considered for this title. The key is to find someone whose stubbornness was fueled by a strong belief in their cause and ultimately led to positive change.
